{"id":117928,"date":"2020-12-04T17:38:10","date_gmt":"2020-12-04T08:38:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/175.125.95.178\/research-achieve\/17928\/"},"modified":"2026-04-03T21:16:20","modified_gmt":"2026-04-03T12:16:20","slug":"17928","status":"publish","type":"research-achieve","link":"http:\/\/ee.presscat.kr\/en\/research-achieve\/17928\/","title":{"rendered":"Professor Hyunchul Shim\u2019s Lab Wins the MSIT AI Grand Challenge Competition 2 Years in a Row"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Our department\u2019s professor Hyunchul Shim\u2019s lab has won the MSIT AI Grand Challenge Competition Control Intelligence Part for the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> year in a row.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s competition was based on how AI can solve various problems that will emerge from the AI based future. The challenge was to set an idea about how to use AI for responding to people\u2019s life in various areas and social issues.<\/p>\n<p>Composed of 4 major areas, professor Shim\u2019s team applied to track 4, where a total of 5 teams applied. Professor Shim\u2019s team used the idea of how to safely use drones to deliver supplies and goods to people.<\/p>\n<p>Winning for the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> year in a row, Professor Shim\u2019s team used only 100% self developed technologies (accurate positioning, high speed flight control) for the competition. Winning the competition again this year, the group will be funded a total of 2.4 billion KW which is similar to the DARPA challenge award prize.
