PhD students who entered in Fall semester must submit the Research Performance Evaluation to the EE Office by 2015. 7. 31 (Fri)<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Research Performance Evaluation System (RPES) for Doctoral Students<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Purpose of RPES<\/span><\/p>\n

– The performance evaluation system is to review and assess the candidate\u2019s progress and development, and to provide academic support.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Process of RPES<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2460 <\/span>Evaluation Period <\/span><\/p>\n

– The Research Accomplishment Evaluation System for Doctoral Students is conducted twice a year.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2461 <\/span>Applicable students<\/span><\/p>\n

– This time a doctoral student who entered in Fall semester is subject to the research performance evaluations<\/span><\/p>\n

– 1<\/span>st<\/span>, 2<\/span>nd<\/span>, 3<\/span>rd<\/span> <\/span>and 4<\/span>th<\/span> <\/span>year doctoral students (Research Performance and GPA evaluation)<\/span><\/p>\n

– N<\/span>th<\/span> <\/span>year (i.e. 5<\/span>th<\/span> <\/span>year or more) doctoral students (Graduation Postponement Evaluation)<\/span><\/p>\n

– This includes part-time, full-time, special program, and international students. <\/span><\/p>\n

– For those taking master\/doctoral-integrated program, this regulation will be effective upon your enrollment into a PhD program. <\/span><\/p>\n

– Research Accomplishment Evaluation System for Doctoral Student is supposed to take effect from July, 2007. <\/span><\/p>\n

– Master students are excluded from the RPES.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2462 <\/span>Documents for submission<\/span><\/p>\n

– Spring and Fall semester students should submit \u201c<\/span>Accomplishment Evaluation<\/span><\/u>(#attached below)\u201d and \u201c<\/span>Supplementary Documents<\/span><\/u>(#attached below)\u201d to the department by the beginning of January and July, respectively, every year.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2463 <\/span>Lists of the Research Performance Evaluation and Standards<\/span><\/p>\n

– Refer to the attached file of \u201cResearch Performance Evaluation Lists and Standards with respect to the Doctoral Year\u201d. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2464 <\/span>Disqualified Students from Research Performance Evaluation<\/span><\/p>\n

– For 1<\/span>st<\/span>, 2<\/span>nd<\/span>, 3<\/span>rd<\/span> <\/span>and 4<\/span>th<\/span> <\/span>year doctoral students, \u201cLetter of Evaluation Results\u201d will be sent to those, who are disqualified from the evaluation, and their professors.<\/span><\/p>\n

– N<\/span>th<\/span> <\/span>year doctoral students will be given a \u201cWarning Letter of Graduation Postponement\u201d <\/span><\/p>\n

– \u201cDoctoral students whose GPA is under 2.5\/4.3 will be sent a Warning Letter.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2465 <\/span>Notice of the Research Accomplishment Evaluation Results<\/span><\/p>\n

– 1<\/span>st<\/span>, 2<\/span>nd<\/span>, 3<\/span>rd<\/span>, 4<\/span>th<\/span> <\/span>year doctoral students are informed of the total score distribution of every corresponding students\u2019 research accomplishment during the semester, both the score and the rank (%) of their own research accomplishment. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2466 <\/span>Annual Honor Roll Awards<\/span><\/p>\n

– Respective students, whose research performance evaluation results meet the following conditions, will receive an \u201cAnnual Honor Roll Award\u201d:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>1<\/span>st<\/span> <\/span>year doctoral students with 100 points or more<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>2<\/span>nd<\/span> <\/span>year doctoral students with 110 points or more <\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>3<\/span>rd<\/span> <\/span>year doctoral students with 120 points or more<\/span><\/p>\n

\u2022 <\/span>4<\/span>th<\/span> <\/span>year doctoral students with 130 points or more.<\/span><\/p>\n
